So, much to miss wibif's dismay, (she seems to constantly be the reason for my starting this blog...) I have uncovered a new hatred in my life. I think even hatred may not be strong enough a word to describe my complete and utter dislike...so lets go with "loathe"
*begin "rant"*
what is this thing that could be so horrible that such a loving and accepting (and humble too :-P ) should have such strong feelings against it? well, it is the chain restaurant known by all as "Friendlies." Now you're probably asking yourself "self, how could this person live his life with such a hatred against this family oriented business which has been around forever and loved by all?" well, let me tell you. As I think I have stated in previous entries in here, I clean theirs as well as Wendy's carpets. Now, I come in after all the people are gone (except a few employees) and clean to my heart's content.
This part will require some thinking on your part (unless you read straight through and are lazy). What is Friendly's know for? yep that's right, their ice cream. Now, what topping is typically put on top of the ice cream? if you said whipped cream, you would be technically correct, but for the purposes of my argument, you're wrong. The correct answer is a cherry. Now...what is attached the the cherry may I ask? yep, a stem. and what do you do with this stem? well, a normal person would take it off and place it in their napkin. Now, what of those who are not typically considered the "normal" type? well, they either eat the stem unknowingly, or the answer I was looking for and simply toss it and leave it where ever it may lay...
Put 2 and 2 together and what do you get? that's right 5 but that's not the point, the point is, the stems end up on the floor for little old me to clean up when I'm steaming the carpets. Now you're thinking (or probably are) that "whooped-doo" the steam cleaner just vacuums up the stems no problem. Well, you would be partially correct. It seems as though that cherry stems were created in such a manner that they curve just enough that they do not easily get vacuumed.... This means a significant increase in the amount of work that I have to do... blech
to date:
yesterday: 22 cherry stems
today: 15 cherry stems
and I'm changing my motto from "people are stupid" to "people are lazy"
